The perfect studio

May 16, 2008 · 8 Comments

Teresa Sheeley@ French Poppy was ruminating on what her perfect studio would be like. That got me thinking about what kind of space would be the most creative zone for me……..

I would like a studio in a large Greenhouse/Conservatory……

It would over look a large pond that I would landscape to bring wildlife to the property……

It would have all the amenities like a big screen TV and refrigerator drawers in a huge work counter like my Dad built for my Mom. Have you ever seen this book. It is full of dreamy studios.

It would have a comfy seating area for Hubby and visitors to enjoy while I puttered away at my sewing……

And a potting area for starting new plants for the greenhouse……..

It is all a dream but I enjoyed the process of thinking it through.

What would your dream studio look like? :-) Rosie

Garden Moments

May 14, 2008 · 28 Comments

I sat on the porch today and peeked through the Climbing Hydrangea to see my birdhouse and the flowers that I got to plant today. YAY!

I was able to get down low and take some pictures of the ferns and fungi along our woodland path…….

I laid on the ground and looked at the sky…..

It was a very good day :-) Rosie

Osprey

May 13, 2008 · 11 Comments

I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as …….. an osprey ……

(that’s the way that rhyme goes, isn’t it?)

This was the best I could do looking into the cloudy, but bright, sky with my little camera. I am going to station Hubby out here by this power line….sitiing in a lawn chair…..until he brings me a good shot of this majestic bird …. hehehe :-)

Waiting….and hoping….

May 12, 2008 · 24 Comments

A week later……..

You can use your imagination on the ribs and hip bone :-)

Flowers are still waiting to be planted. Raking is still waiting to be done. Pruning and dead limbing still to be finished. Oh, and then there’s the chip pile that still wants to be wheelbarrowed in it’s place.

And, this cheeky little devil is waiting for me to move from the kitchen door……

…..so that he can clean out the bird feeder on the other side of the post.

(Today is prep day, tomorrow is my first colonoscopy. This is an important test for all of us 50 and over. Please consider making your appointment if you haven’t gotten one yet.)

Will this week find you waiting, hoping, or doing? :-) Rosie

Blue Jay Convention

May 8, 2008 · 20 Comments

We are hosting a Blue Jay convention. There has been a very noisy flock of about a dozen Blue Jays camping out here for the past few days. We usually have one or two around but this group is big and boisterous. Ever since they came I have seen very few of our gorgeous Gold Finch. Not happy about that but these guys are fun to watch…..just hope they are not all staying :-)

This is where I have been spending the past few days since my head on collision with the armoire…..actually it was more like ribs, forearms, knees, and toes. Any other time of year this wouldn’t bother me but I want to garden! I have mulch to haul….perhaps by Saturday….hmmmm….hope Hubby doesn’t read this. ;-)

Hugs ……… Rosie

You were only waiting for this moment to arise…..

May 7, 2008 · 17 Comments

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Black bird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to be free

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise,oh
You were only waiting for this moment to arise, oh
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

THE BEATLES

How often do you feel that this is the moment …… that you are so unbelievably happy ….. that joy just exudes from your every pore? I am that happy and I so very much make that wish for you, too. :-) Rosie
